1. Research ✍️
The heart of the work was to design a fluid and coherent user experience around a seemingly simple concept: combining film and food. In reality, from the point of view of UX design, the challenge was great. It was necessary to imagine an intuitive, logical and perfectly readable course for the user. Combining several universes implies thinking about each step by taking into account the above while anticipating what follows. A real exercise in flow design and information prioritisation. This process required many iterations to lead to a clear, user-centred architecture.
Find the balance between aesthetics and user experience
The project required real iterative work. A first visual track inspired by Pinterest, with side sections, seemed graphically promising but created a break in the user flow. This gap between aesthetics and logic of use has led us to a click: the graphical interface must stem from the concept and not the other way around. The UX therefore guided the structure, before the UI came to strengthen it in a coherent way.
The experience has been improved to easily navigate between movies and food, with clear logic up to purchase. Tests of an interface with superimposed categories and scrolling cards showed problems of readability and interaction.
Before arriving at the final concept, we tested another version inspired by Apple Pay, where the categories were represented by different cards. But again, it was too complex. By mixing the cards for the films and food into a single object, we made the use even more complicated. So, we continued to simplify.
